Persona portal · Alpha testing

A decision you can explain eighteen months later.

A portal for the bank risk professionals who assess counterparties: credit analysts deciding on lending, and KYC analysts onboarding and reviewing customers. Its aim is to bring together what the bank knows about a counterparty from systems that disagree, show where they disagree, and keep one record of each decision.

One persona, two configurations

Credit analyst

Assesses borrowers for lending decisions, such as business loans, and monitors them afterwards.

KYC analyst

Onboards and periodically reviews customers: who they are, who owns them, and whether they can be banked.

The work is high-volume, repeated and document-heavy, and a wrong or unsourced answer is expensive, in money and in regulatory exposure.

The job

Establish the facts

About a counterparty, from internal systems and external sources that often disagree.

Decide

Lend or not, onboard or not, escalate or not. The analyst makes the call.

Document the decision

So it can be explained to a regulator, often long after it was made. The real worry is rarely a wrong answer today; it is being unable to explain a decision eighteen months later.

What the portal is being designed to do

This is the design intent for the portal.

A reconciled counterparty view

Bring the counterparty together from the bank’s internal systems and its external sources, such as registries, screening lists and filings, and show where they conflict instead of hiding it: which source was used and why, and what looks stale.

The sources behind each answer

Each fact in an assessment links back to where it came from, source by source.

One record per case

A single record that brings together the inputs, the policy applied and the reasoning, for a reviewer or a regulator to examine.

Policy checks, exceptions first

Automatic flags where a case breaches policy, so a reviewer looks at the exceptions rather than the whole file.

What it won’t do

  • Make the lending or onboarding decision. The analyst decides.
  • Present a single answer without its sources and the conflicts behind it.
  • Replace the bank’s screening and case-management tools. It works across them.
