Keep the agents you built. Add the walls, the record and the memory.
A governed portal for portfolio managers and their research teams. It works alongside the models and agents you already run, keeps one desk’s positions and signals apart from another’s, and records why each position was taken, so the firm keeps what each manager learns.
The job
A buy-side portfolio manager runs a book or a sleeve of a fund, with discretion over their own positions. The portal is built around five things they do every day.
Know what is happening
To every holding, every day.
Form and test theses
Including from alternative signals.
Decide, and record why
Why a position was taken, sized, held or closed.
Benchmark and explain
Portfolio performance, to the people who ask.
Pass on the method
So a junior can see how a past call was made.
What the portal is designed to do
Catalyst monitoring
News and filings become tagged catalysts, such as earnings revisions or management changes, matched to your holdings, with a daily alert for each market.
Thesis building
Combine approved sources, such as holdings, mandate, broker research and filings, with alternative signals, such as delivery-volume proxies or store foot-traffic, into the signal chain behind a specific call.
A record of each position
Link every source, agent step and human check to the position, so the reasoning can be walked through again later. Replay reconstructs the evidence and the sequence; it does not promise an identical model output.
Review
Walk a past decision step by step, for a manager, a junior or a regulator.
Built for how investment firms have to work
Walls between desks
Information barriers between portfolio managers, desks and mandates are enforced by policy, not by permission settings. One manager’s signals and positions are never exposed to another.
No model learns on your book
Positions and signals are the manager’s and the firm’s intellectual property. Nothing trains anyone else’s model.
A record that doesn’t need trimming
When reasoning may later be discoverable, people shorten what they write down. A governed record is designed so the full reasoning can be kept, and examined by a regulator when asked.
Your models, governed
Many portfolio managers already build agents on open-weight models. The portal governs them rather than replacing them. It runs on your premises or in your own tenancy, and hosted models are an option you switch on.
What it won’t do
- Expose one manager’s signals or positions to another desk.
- Train any model on the book.
- Replace the manager’s judgement or override their discretion.

Shape this portal with us
We are working with delivery partners to refine how the portal is implemented. A first engagement starts with one workflow and your approved sources, and looks at things your teams already care about: the time from a catalyst to a thesis, the share of positions with a complete decision record, whether a junior can replay a past call, and whether the record is accepted in a compliance review.
The portal is usually sponsored by the CIO or head of investments, approved by compliance, and run by the COO or head of technology.
